Register to Vote


If you are eighteen (18) years old, a U.S. citizen, and a permanent resident of the State of Florida, you may register to vote.


If you are sixteen (16) years old, you may pre-register and receive your voter information card in the mail after your 18th birthday.


You can start the registration process right now by using our convenient on-line application form.


You may register to vote in person at the following Supervisor of Elections offices:

After completing the Voter Registration Application, mail or deliver the application to either of the Supervisor of Elections offices.  A voter information card will be mailed to you approximately 2-3 weeks after the application is received. 

You are not entitled to register to vote if you have been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with regard to voting in this or any other state and you have not had your right to vote restored pursuant to law, or, if you have been convicted of any felony by any court of record and you have not had your right to vote restored pursuant to law.


If you decide to register to vote by mail, please be aware of the following information:


HELP AMERICA VOTE ACT (HAVA) OF 2002

As a result of the enactment of the 2002 Help America Vote Act (HAVA) by the United States Congress, Florida law (97.0535, Florida Statutes) now specifies new requirements for anyone who registers by mail. As of January 1, 2003, if you register as a new voter in Florida, and if you register by mail, and if you have not voted previously in Florida, you must present a current, valid photo identification, or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or other government document that shows your name and address. If you wish to vote by mail you must submit, with your ballot, the same documentation stated above. The following persons are not required to provide the identification as described in the previous paragraph:

  • Persons 65 years of age or older.
  • Persons with a temporary or permanent physical disability.
  • Members of the uniformed services on active duty and their spouses and dependents, who, by reason of such active duty, are absent from the county on Election Day.
  • Members of the Merchant Marine and their spouses and dependents, who, by reason of service in the Merchant Marine, are absent from the county on Election Day.
  • Persons living outside the United States but eligible to vote in Florida.
